Where I, Rickard Bengsson, Creative Director and Co-Founder of SkillGround share insights, experiments and other fun and interesting aspects of SkillGround and its usage.
A little backstory, a couple of weeks ago, I had the incredible experience to explore and travel to the city of Rome, an amazing experience! But in this post, I’m going to dive into something that’s equally exciting: SkillGround. Let me walk you through how I used Skillground to create something really really cool, including showing a fantastic new feature for the platform, that’s just been rolled out!
What is SkillGround?:
At its core, Skillground is SaaS product, with it being designed for B2B video based microlearning, However since it is a SaaS product, You can utilize Skillgrounds versatility in many different ways, and while it's perfect for companies and organizations using it for creating training content, it's can also be used to create silly, and funny messages in a easy way, like my out of office message.
My Experience in crafting an out of office message:
Recently, I when I experimented with SkillGround to create my message, I broke it down into three easy steps. Here’s how it went down:
- I wrote down a short script in Google docs, I could’ve used Skillgrounds built in Ai script generator, but since this script was pretty straight forward, I opted in just by writing it myself.
- After creating my script, I just simply copy and paste it into the timeline of the video in Skillground, where I can see the length of the video! For this step I did use one of Skillgrounds fancy Ai features, where it Autofills the timeline with clips, based on the scripts keywords.
- For final touches, I could either switch out, or change the order of clips within the timeline!
The new feature: enhanced ICONS
In a scene of my message, there is a scene featuring, Gelato, Pasta, Pizza and Negroni, which in most cases is probably very niched, and only really viable in specific scenarios. For this scene, I chose a scene in the Skillground library with four Icons in it, and now, rather than before, where you had to be creating icons of your own, Skillground has implemented a massive library from Flaticon of over 1 Million icons that you can filter through, and search for! And wouldn’t you know it! It features high quality icons of Gelato, Pasta, Pizza and Negronis!
Simple as that, I have used Skillground to create a fun, engaging out of office message, before I travel!
