The Challenge
The Challenge
Kungsbacka municipality wanted to increase awareness about water conservation among residents but found that traditional information materials weren't engaging enough. Brochures and information pages had low readership, and the municipality wanted to try a new format that actively involved the user. The challenge was making a relatively everyday topic - how to save water at home - interesting and memorable. The material needed to work for all ages and technical skill levels, and be simple to distribute via the municipality's website.
The Solution
The Solution
SkillGround developed an interactive module built around a cross-section illustration of a house with 9 clickable zones. Each zone represents a room or area in the home - kitchen, bathroom, garden, and more - and contains specific tips and explanations about water conservation for that space. The format encourages exploration: the user clicks through the house at their own pace and receives concrete, visually illustrated advice. Total training time is 6-7 minutes, short enough to maintain attention but sufficient to cover the most important areas. The module was delivered as a standalone HTML5 application ready for embedding on the municipality's website.
The Results
The Results
The municipality received an interactive educational tool that stands out from typical municipal information materials. The house format with clickable zones proved to be an effective way to present practical information without feeling like traditional training. The project serves as a reference for other Swedish municipalities looking to modernize their citizen information with interactive formats.
